Events & Volunteer Opportunities

Every family at LDV is an integral part of our community, and volunteering is never mandatory but is MUCH appreciated. Adults able to give volunteer time to our school make our special programming possible and are recognized by the PTC in our newsletter and through small tokens of appreciation each trimester.  

When volunteer opportunities are offered at LDV using SignUp.com, your hours are automatically logged.  You can also log hours you do at home (e.g., putting packets together for a classroom, etc.) by using the “At Home” log, available HERE. Only recorded hours will be recognized, but all hours are appreciated.  

The recognition thresholds are:

First Trimester (Fall)
15+ Hours (Special Recognition 40+)

Second Trimester (Winter)
30+ Hours (Special Recognition 60+)

Third Trimester (Spring)
40+ Hours (Special Recognition 80+)

Logging hours is based on the honor system, and there is no negative consequence to not logging hours. The recognition program is simply a fun way for the PTC to say: we see you & we appreciate you!

Take the Lead!

Recognizing that leadership roles take extra administrative work, the PTC assigns automatic hours for certain positions.  

Those registered as Class Manager, Class Treasurer, Class Field Trip Coordinator, or Class ArtLinks Coordinator will automatically receive 15 “admin hours” each trimester they maintain the role to account for administrative work. These hours are in addition to, not in lieu of, hours earned volunteering in person at the school. Those who chair a PTC Committee will receive 10 admin hours per active trimester.
